Making Money with Comic Strips, Surviving Social Media, and what constitutes "selling out"...

Hey fam,

I hope you're having a great week so far.

Today, I am challenging myself to get back into my Daily Sketch emails in a big way.  I know not everyone will want to read an email from me every day, but it will be there in your inbox anyways, so you can come back to it later!

I already draw everyday, but the big change is that I will email you about whatever I'm working on along with the sketches.

In last weeks email, I shared a teaser about #FreelancingFAIL Number Two, but here's the strip in case you missed it:
Most Freelancers Do This Wrong. Get It Right, and You'll Get the Money, Honey

#FreelancingFAIL is kind of a miniseries I'm including in my strip FREELANCER LIFEI have been serving business clients as a creative freelancer (with mixed results) for almost twenty years, and as far as I can tell, there is nothing struggling freelancers like more than complaining about "bad" clients.

Complaining about clients is a lot of fun, and we'll do some of that in FREELANCER LIFE... but complaining about my clients never helped me make more money.
So
I created #FreelancingFAIL as a funny way to discuss things we as freelancers often do that make it hard for ourselves, and to shed light on ways to overcome them.
This strip is all about the lack of empathy we freelancers can sometimes have for our clients.
For some tips and tools to overcome a lack of empathy (and some motivation for why you should) click here to read my blog post
Most Freelancers Do This Wrong. Get It Right, and You'll Get the Money, Honey.
I Hooked up with my dude Marshall of Donkey Jaw Projects to ramble about Making Money with Comic Strips, Surviving Social Media, and what constitutes "selling out"...

Also, this past weekend I made an appearance on my the Marsh Makes Comics!  Marshall and I chop it up about making comics, surviving social media, what constitutes selling out, and more.

Also, it will help those of you who wanna know how to pronounce my name.

So anyways, here's today's Daily Sketch:

So, today's Daily Sketch is a pencil drawing of a werewolf warrior.  I wrote a short story recently about a werewolf hunter who bites off more than he can chew, as part of a blog post about freelancing (yes, really), and now I'm thinking about expanding that story into a comic strip series.

I'm not sure if this character will be in that story, but I'd say chances are pretty good.

That's all for now, fam.   Feel free to respond with any comments, questions, concerns, or whatever

Peace, love, etc.
